When owning a pet it becomes part of the family. It therefore stands to reason that as with a family member you would want them to live out their life in happiness. Sadly, as with human health it is impossible to predict when your beloved pet could fall ill or have an accident.

Pet medical care expenses have been rising through the years. Owning a pet isn’t overly expensive when buying the basics however when calculating possible vet bills this is definitely not the case. You will obviously be worried about the health of your pet if it unfortunately has to have an emergency procedure. With a good pet insurance plan in place at least you won’t have to worry about the financial aspect of it.

Having a plan in place will mean you can continue to love and care for your pet through both the good times and the bad. Luckily, there are numerous kinds of products that offer a wide array of protection, deductibles and premiums. Usually people will pay for plans on a monthly or yearly basis which helps when it comes to spending budgets.

Plans for your pet can cover a huge range of issues. These range from the extreme emergency procedures to standard regular vet check-ups. Some plans even also cover accidental death. These are just some of the additional perks that show how much pet insurance plans have grown to suit pet owners over the years.

These are just some of the reasons why you should check for UK pet insurance at www.petsathome.com/petinsurance.

Dear Pet Lovers, do you like to watch pet related movie? The pet related movies can always touch our heart and bring us sweet memories. After 1970 there was a lull in good dog movies. The movies mentioned in part 1 of this series shared a common theme of a dog and boy owner. There are a few twists put on this theme in the following films.

More about dog movies

A Boy and His Dog (1975) – This movie, much like Best in Show was not made for children. A Boy and His Dog reflects the then fascination with a post-apocalyptic world. It features a Don Johnson as Vic. He is wandering with his dog, Blood (Tiger) through the wasteland. Running into nomadic characters with an interesting proposal. It is Blood who finds the solution to their predicament. The movie was based on the novella by the great writer Harlan Ellison. A Boy and His Dog is considered inspiration for the Mad Max or Road Warrior movies. Blood was a mixed breed better known for his role in the television series The Brady Bunch.

Here are pictures of classic dog movies

Beethoven (1992) – Beethoven, like Air Bud was one in a series of dog movies featuring the major dog character. In this case, the dog is a Saint Bernard named Beethoven. The dog is played by Chris. He embarks upon a series of predictable misadventures in this home of new dog owners. There are an evil vet, superficial yuppie con artists and true friends.

Air Bud (1997) Air Bud is they typical boy meets dog story. It is about a young misfit boy who meets an abandoned Golden Retriever. The dog has an untapped talent. He can shoot hoops. This is the first and last role of the original dog star – Buddy. Although other Buddy movies were made, Buddy did not act in them. He died of cancer soon after completing this film.

Best In Show (2000) – Christopher Guest directs this hilarious comedy. Best In Show goes inside the competitive world of show dogs. The movie flows like a documentary. The characters in the films are more of a focus than the dogs. All are trying to seize the ultimate prize in their dog world – Best in Show at the Mayflower Kennel Dog Show. This adult mockumentary does an excellent character assessment of many of the stereotypes in the dog show world.

Marley and Me (2008) – Marley and Me is a real tear jerker. This movie was based on the best selling novel by John Grogan. This movie is about the life and death of a loveable misfit dog. Marley is a yellow Labrador Retriever. This movie was made with 18 different dog actors playing the same role, however only 3 are mentioned in the credits. They needed so many dogs to cover all the ages of Marley.
