Kerry Blue Terrier
The Kerry Blue Terrier is a fun-loving pet. The other name is Irish Blue Terrier and the nick name is Kerry. This dog breed was originated from County Kerry in South West Ireland since 18th century. The Kerry Blue Terrier was named after the County Kerry region. They are national dog of Ireland. Kerry Blue Terriers were used to be working dog to herd cattle or sheep. They are also known as small game hunter and they were recognized by American Kennel Club (AKC) in 1922. Today, Kerry Blue Terrier can be found in the dog show and also become family pet around the world.

- Temperament – The Kerry Blue Terrier is alert, brave, determined, energetic, friendly, gentle, independent, intelligent, playful and stubborn. Early socialization is a must for Kerry Blue Terrier puppies. They are easy to train and they can get along with children. They are good watch dog and they rarely bark. Kerry Blue Terrier is also known as family dog. First time owner is not recommend for this dog breed as Blue Terrier dog needs a confident and firm owner.
- Appearance – Kerry Blue Terrier has a medium-sized muscular body. They have a long head and they come with a pair of small dark eyes and small V-shaped ears. The nose is black and the neck is long. The beard is usually trimmed. They have deep jaws. The front legs are straight and the hind legs are muscular. The chest is deep and the ribs are well sprung. They have a long tail which carried high. The coat is soft and wavy. They born in black and turn to blue gray in matured (over 18 months).
